When I spoke to Elisa on the phone regarding her maternity session she told me she wanted something romantic with her husband.  So last week I got to meet her husband for the first time and I found out he’s a former pro wrestler.  You can’t see the shoes, but Elisa had wedges on that probably added 3 inches to her height.  I’m sitting here typing this and I’m looking at the size of his hand in the photo directly above this. Inside I panicked a little about the height difference, but I think we pulled it off.  In the sea of seniors I’ve had lately it was nice to take a break and shoot this session.

Elisa, I know I told you 100 times how beautiful you looked last week.  And I’ll tell you just one more time.  You are a gorgeous pregnant woman!

So here are some other previews I have yet to put up.

Tasha and Sami, just weeks before the arrival of a new baby named Ryan.  I think becoming a big sister is going to be wonderful for Sami.  I know for a fact she already loves the idea of a baby!

Madison who drove in from Round Rock early on a Saturday morning so that she could have her senior pictures taken.  How did she hear about me you might ask????  Well my friends at the Crafty Scrapper of course.  Back in the old days if I wasn’t at the studio I was there.  I haven’t seen the inside of that store in months.

Allison and her guitar.  The pressure was on.  Her dad dabbles in photography and I think her future brother in law is contemplating photography as a career.  Lots of eyes are on these pictures.

The beautiful Whittney.  This is the person I hope my daughter is like when she grows up.  Pretty, smart, kind and gentle.  This was the only blue bonnet picture I took this year because of the case of Senioritis happening at the studio.

Let’s see, hmmmmmmmm….. The last two weeks can basically be summarized by either a camera attached to my eye or me attached to a computer. 

Tuesday – I took a technology break for a couple of hours and attempted to put up my Christmas tree at the studio.  Have you ever seen someone make something simple… complicated?  I am a whiz at photoshop.  I can troubleshoot most of my own issues.  I can work on three separate computers simultaneously. Putting up a BRAND NEW pre-lit Christmas Tree translates to Brain Surgery for me.  Cindy at the Dove’s Nest saw me twice taking break from the tree.  I changed out fuses, took out bulbs. Unplugged each strand and connected it directly to the extension chord.  ALAS…. three hours later….. DIRECTIONS.  Connect A to B, B to C, D to E.  Plug in and VOILA a tree with lights. GRRRRRRRR. I wish I would have documented my progress. 

Fight the lights for 2 hours.  Threw the ornaments on the tree TWICE.  Decided to call Christi and asked her to help me.  Christi works her magic – Carolyn, strolls by the studio and she is SUCKED in.  She adds her magic.  At the end of the day a beautiful Christmas tree emerges.

So today I am staying up late for my faithful readers who feel deserted, incomplete, and disconnected without a picture and a post.  I have been guilted into posting today. 

So in no particular order I am going to post some of my sessions. There’s a lot.  I think I should be able to keep up now.

The Morgan Family…  one of the best group of kids I have photographed. They meant business!

Allie had her senior pictures taken at her house.  Like I say… no one else will have pictures like her.

If it looks like he is getting ready to slide off… it is because he was.  Though he never did , he liked to hang out like that.

My first session today was a maternity session with Veronica.  She drove all the way out from Terrell for me to do her photos.  You won’t believe this, but she is due in a month.  She is super tiny.  I could completely relate to her because she was out of her element taking pictures – add to that, they were belly pictures.  I tried to keep it as natural as possible.  I’m always amazed at how women can embrace pregnancy.  I felt like I hid behind a curtain for two years when I was pregnant.  And looking back, if I had done it then, I probably would have done it exactly like Veronica.  I would have found someone far away with little chance of running into anyone.  Thanks for being brave Veronica!  Your pictures came out great!

I did a shoot for Living Magazine and then later did a Midlothian Senior session.  Stealing a line from my seven year old daughter, Audrey has eyes that just twinkle.  My daughter asked me if I added the twinkles.  I can tell you – those twinkles are Audrey’s.

Mary came in with her two boys for a family maternity session.  I loved how the boys balanced the very feminine Mary.  I didn’t ask for permission on these (I forgot) so just a quick image of a belly and little hands.

Baby Isabella, three weeks old and a kicker.  I can not even begin to imagine what she was like in the belly.  There is so much you can tell about a baby as a newborn.  She is going to be one active girl!!

And finally yesterday two brothers Tyler and Kyle came in for their senior session.  I had a great time with their family yesterday.  We even found a new nickname for me while out in downtown… but it’s not appropriate for the blog

Jennifer came in for maternity shoot today with her husband.  They were so nervous – cute.  I am always a little cautious about posting a maternity on the blog because some people like it and some people don’t.  At Jennifer’s request – we did one with the baby’s name.

Later – Keri came in for her senior session.  Her mom had commented to me before that the camera loves her daughter.  She’s right.  She is one of those that is just comfortable and at ease.  Love a girl in her cowboy boots!!

I have spent over 13 hours today trying to catch up on all this editing – weddings, duck sessions, seniors and maternity sessions.  I am no where close to being finished.  The studio has been in a state of transition as we build out my gallery and viewing room in the back.  I had to put a hold on ordering because the dust was getting on everything.  And dust and pictures are not a good combo.  We have spent every day cleaning and moving, cleaning and moving.  The construction is done, but everything is not in it’s place yet.

Some people don’t understand my obsession with taking the "family feet" shot or my tendency to chop a head off (like I did above).  It’s just a different perspective on the story I am trying to tell. When I came across this one tonight I was instantly attracted to it.  I’m hoping she will let me post the slideshow on my blog because she really was a beautiful maternity client. 

I’m working like crazy to catch up.
