These sweet kids belong to my CPA.  I photographed them last week and had the viewing this week.  She shared her iPhone photos with me and expressed how hard it was to get a photograph of the two of them looking at the camera.  So I thought I should refrain in sharing what my favorite photo of them together was?

Makes me laugh out loud.  He’s got that look like, “I have her wrapped around my finger” and she looks content  to be hanging out with her brother.  No worries though.  Plenty of others with them looking at me together.

Sometimes I wish I could add sounds to my images.  We all had just come inside the studio after taking some photos outside.  I left the front door open to let some fresh air in.  I told them my idea and stacked them on top of each other and then the laughter began.  The happy sounds resonated in the studio and lingered out the door.  Twice I looked towards the door and saw kids walk by and peer in to see what was happening inside.

We all need this kind of laughter in our lives.  Wishing a little laughter for all of you!

People often ak me how I get kids to cooperate in pictures.  I’ll tell you the secret – its not me…. it’s your kids.  These two were like magic kids.  I’m not kidding.  I could have told them to do headstands and smile natural and they would have pulled it off.  I will say what helps sometimes and it is what happened in this case –  Mom left the building.  That’s right, she trusted me with her kids and left them in my care.  And its not the first time this has happened.  If you feel that your kids will do better if you are not around then tell me and we can make it happen.  I’ve never had bad kids and its amazing how polite and well behaved they are when mom is not around.  You would be so surprised.  And on the flip side, you know if you have a child that suffers from separation anxiety.  They just aren’t ready to be left alone yet.  And that is ok too.  The best environment for a child is one where there are comfortable.  Sometimes that means they get a photo session in their own back yard, and even in their bedroom. You know your children best and working when they are at their best will ensure that you get a great return on your investment.

I’m getting lots of calls about missed Boo @ Marie Q Picture pickups.  Along with the current call volume its been  hard to return all the calls.  No worries I haven’t thrown away any pics.  Just stop by to pick it up.

I am going to be closed starting Saturday and all of next week.  I wish I could say it was for fun reasons, but my daughter is having surgery on Saturday and she will be in recovery all week.  I’ve had to keep a few appointments due to scheduling but I won’t be in the studio at all next week with the exception of those appointments.

Hoping I can get some major catching up done over the week off.  Who knows, maybe I’ll even post some of my favorite pictures from the past month.

And a father-son image from last night’s family session.  Thank goodness mom can dance in the background and generate these smiles.  Later during the session we had to call in the big guns.   Nick’s uncle was called in to help with the smiles.

I am trying something new this year.  I have opened up three dates for The Neighbor’s Program Blog Special.  I will photograph a total of four families all living within 2 blocks of each other at your respective homes.  Each family will have a short 15-20 minute mini session and I will move from house to house.  We can use your front or back yard.  I can photograph you inside by the fireplace – whatever you want.  Each family will pay a $50 session fee when booking and can order prints and Christmas cards from your images.  Do you have fantastic property and don’t mind hosting families?  That is another way to get family and friends  together for their portraits. Same restrictions apply – a minimum of four total families and a $50 session fee.

Here is 6 month Sawyer at the Arboretum.  You all know how I love my 6 month olds and Sawyer was not an exception. Their smiles are infectious, their enthusiasm contagious.  Then add the weeble-wobble quality and its a can’t fail situation.  

Then 9 month old Baby Jake here in Waxahachie. I believe he’ll be walking by next month.  He is pretty amazing.  Looks like he’s winking at you in this photo doesn’t it?

And his Big Brother Hunter.  I adore him.  Being around him make me smile.  He’s just such a positive kid and I know he loves his brother more than words can say.
