Fri, 03 Feb 2012 21:36:41 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 {This Weekend} http://www.marieq.com/blog/2011/09/14/this-weekend/ http://www.marieq.com/blog/2011/09/14/this-weekend/#comments Wed, 14 Sep 2011 19:32:52 +0000 admin http://www.marieq.com/blog/?p=1243 Hello blogosphere!  I have come out of my hibernation to post some previews of an engagement session I did last for week for a wedding taking place this weekend at the Old Bison Ranch.  We had waited to take these photos until the last minute because I’m not sure if you all heard, but it’s been the hottest summer in our area in recorded history.  70 days of over 100 degree weather which means 70 days of not taking any photos outside after 8:30 am.  Fortunately for Sara, we were granted a small break last week.  While the Earth was a bit crunchy and brown, we were able to find some beautiful places around town.  I like to call Sara “Miss Waxahachie”.  She seems to be “in” on all things Waxahachie and very active in our little community. It was very important to her to be photographed in her hometown.

This weekend is going to be a busy one.  If you are local to Ellis County, this Saturday is also Oktoberfest at the Civic Center from 10 am to 8 pm.  If you see my husband, Hector, tell him Hi for me.  Poor guy is working it 6 am to midnight – buy him a Diet Coke for me.

Then on Sunday, September 18th we are setting up our booth at The Waxahachie Bridal Extravaganza from 12-5 also being held at The Waxahachie Civic Center.  And that poor guy I wrote about earlier… he is such a trooper, will be there again to help me.  Lots of Diet Coke for that man!

First a quick note to say thanks to all of you who have sent sweet notes and messages about my back.  A trip to the ER and one doctor later it looks like I am suffering from sciatica.  The good news is I am feeling better.

I met Chassler and Claude at Las Colinas on Saturday.  I didn’t prepare them for the sight they might see when I arrived.  As the session progressed I felt my back hunching more and more and then I had to say something.  Fortunately they were not too embarrassed to be seen with me.  I was looking pretty old and decrepit.

As I was walking around with them, I instructed them on things to do.  Claude looks over at me and says, “I’ve become that man.  That guy who poses for those cheesy pictures.”  I’ll be meeting them again for their casual engagement shoot soon so we can take more pictures with LESS cheese.

Chelsea is lucky to have access to the old Mason’s Lodge that is a hidden gem.  I can’t wait to go back and take her bridals there.

The website has been down on and off all day today.  I’m sorry.  I keep trying to post my session from last night and get all sorts of different dialogue boxes.  The web host had me worried there for a minute.

Last night I photographed Christi and Jordan’s engagement session.  I gave Christi a workout.  As much as I walk around downtown you would think I would be skinnier.  Well, eating the Dove’s Nest everyday probably doesn’t help either.  It’s been a while since I posted a dandelion picture on the blog.  They just haven’t been around.  My favorite though has to be the one at the tree.

So all of us are arranging our schedules around tonight’s debates, watching our money tank in the stock market, wondering what is going to happen tomorrow?  And somewhere in Greenville, a wife is missing her husband.  He was deployed on Tuesday. 

Megan and Jordan – I’m thinking about you all tonight.  Thank you for all you do, for everything you have given up.  My family appreciates you!

At the very least it had to be the topic of my blog today

We photographed down at the canals at Las Colinas today.  The setting just makes for a very romantic shoot. I’ll be glad when this wind goes away!!
