Little did I know that when I signed on for this wedding it would be a trip down memory lane. As I have written before, in my past life I was the daughter of a restaurateur. I grew up in a family restaurant in Duncanville, Tx named Floresita’s . My maiden name is Flores and I wasn’t known as Marie Q, I along with my sister were the Floresita Girls.
When I began recognizing all these faces from my dad’s restaurant it was clear that I was not Marie Q, but that Floresita Girl. The Groom’s father was my old eye doctor. Many of the guests were “regulars” from the restaurant and asked about my family. It has been 10 + years since I worked my last shift there, but there is no doubt that all these people are still part of my extended family. It was great to see everyone.
