{The human question mark}

That is one way to describe me.  The others could be the Hunchback of Waxahachie (the timing is perfect).  Or the 90 year old… I shuffle the way I remember my grandmother walked back in the day. On top of that, add my daughter’s lovely strep diagnosis that she shared with me and needless to say - I have been down for the count.  I anticipate to be back in the studio on Wednesday posting all my overdue blog previews and hopefully catching up on some much needed editing.  Sorry for the delay in the regularly scheduled programming - but my body just gave up and gave out.  I have to get better before I can continue.

Be good!!

{Seriously}

Seriously adorable… seriously gorgeous….seriously tiny….seriously sweet. Two days of SERIOUSLY great sessions.  You all make my job EASY!!

First the newborns…. one newborn girl yesterday and newborn twins today.  And I have on one the books for tomorrow.  Can anyone say BABYBOOM!!

Precious little Reese.  So feminine and beautiful at 6 days old.

Then today, the Simmons twins.  There is something About newborn twins that is always magical.

Early this morning these two little girls were like real models.  It was 40 degrees this morning and they stuck it out and braved the cold in their little dresses.  I was so proud of them.

Yesterday, I shot a family session and commercial session in Downtown Waxahachie.

One year old Carson was great.  He smiled, he sat, he ran…he was overall a complete joy.  I couldn’t ask a one year old to be any better.  Checkout his great eyes!!

My last shoot of the day seemed effortless. I remember the first time I photographed a model.  I was stunned that she would switch poses automatically right after she heard my shutter.  I had to have her hold it for two clicks to make sure I got it.  Today I just let Madison do her thing. Like I said… EFFORTLESS.

Whew…  seriously!!!  Be Good!

????????

I know, I know…. I’m in blogger jail.  I have not posted a thing in a week.  It’s been a little crazy on both the professional and personal front.  A little one with Strep throat has not helped any either.  So I have many pictures to post in no particular order.

This is from my Saturday senior session.  A senior all the way from Tyler, Texas came for the Marie Q experience.  I had huge fun with Hillary because we have so many things in common… a love of guitar, and photography.

On Sunday, I had to make up a session for the rained out senior sessxion from Wednesday.  Mercedes with the beautiful hair, comfortable smile, and funny best friend came from three blocks down for her session.

Another preview from Saturday, which by the way was a gorgeous day.  This was a session taken at the Dallas Zoo.  Looks like we were not the only ones with that idea.  The zoo was filled with people, but surprisingly the animals were a bit lethargic still and didn’t make many appearances.

On Friday, I was away from the studio the entire day photographing.  I started at the Arboretum with the Simmons Family. Madeleine looks like something out of a Monet painting with that lavender behind her.  She looks just beautiful.

And I ended the day at the Skelton residence where we photographed at their fantastic home.

And from my Thursday session which seems like light years ago.  These two kiddos reminded me a lot of me when I was their age.  Very quiet and shy.  It took some time to get them to have some fun!!

I think that catches me up!!  I’ll be out for most of the day today with my daughter. I hope to be back in the studio tomorrow!

Be Good!

{Fierce}

We need an intervention.  My daughter and I get hooked on America’s Next Top Model Marathons. She studies the posing and I study the lighting and the photo and clothing tips they give on the show.  On Sundays we hope that one of the stations is showing some episodes.  Most times we are lucky.

So if you watch it, you know that Tyra is always saying, “Give me Fierce” .  Well here is an almost 8 year old doing her best “Fierce” impression.  We really need to stop watching it.

Be Good!

{Getting Ready}

I know it sounds CRAZY.  But Team Marie Q had to get their holiday session done before the rush begins.  So we all piled in the Davidson Limo (aka the Tahoe) and took a road trip.  We had a great QUICK session today, had a nice lunch and headed home.  Easy - breezy!!

Patrick - thanks for driving Miss Daisy and being on river duty.  I appreciate your help.  And the lunch was yummy too!!

Be Good!

|seventeen|

seventeen. 17. 13+4+1.

That is the number of people I photographed today.  It made for a busy day.  Fortunately it was one of those beautiful October days.

First thing this morning I started with Lindsay and her immediate family.  13 total.  These are the individual shots of the kids right before they gave up on me.

Later, I photographed the Shugart Family.  Lots of blond hair and blue eyes in this family.  I had fun with Emma.  She made me skip today.  I am sure that was quite a sight! It never fails.. someone will I say, “Marie I saw you skipping through downtown yesterday”.  It’s coming…. I know.

And finally… the senior that may win most reschedules ever… but for good reason.  Our original session was set back by a broken wrist and then surgery.  I was glad to see Allison healthy and happy!

Be Good!
