{Getting Old}

My title has nothing to do with the preview posts below… but whoever said getting old stinks was RIGHT.  Since Tuesday I have been nursing a mild case of whiplash.  So you ask??  Marie, how in the world did you get whiplash – a car accident?  Noooo….. it was an evil slide at Hurricane Harbor called Mega Wedgie.  I used to ride all the thrill rides without consequences.  Not anymore.  My amusement park and carnival days just may be over.

Yeserday, I photographed an engagement session in Downtown Waxahachie and the park. It was hot in places, but for the most part… it wasn’t to painful.  Karel requested some at The Grove.  I love that spot.

This reminds me of the Princess Bride, an old movie, but one I still love.  If you look at the movie poster for this – it’s the same pose.

This shot I stole from a magazine ad.  I tore it out of  a magazine last year and just remembered to use it yesterday.  I think I like it!

Then my session from Sunday,  pre-whiplash.  But this session started the “I’m feeling old sequence”.  I photographed the Wayne Family.  This was an adult family of parents and three brothers.  For a couple of years I went to DeSoto High School – the same High School the boys went to.  Feeling like I was close to their age – I asked what year they graduated to see if they knew any of my friends.  They graduated 10-13 years AFTER me – I doubt we had any friends in common. I was jolted.

They were a great family. I tried it make it quick and painless for everyone. Some of you may recognize Carol from our local library!
